At Group Mission Trips, our passion is creating service experiences to help people grow in their relationships with Jesus and each other. Our staff works together to carry out this mission to thousands of youth and youth leaders each summer. Here’s what a volunteer said about their staff experience:

Each summer we recruit about 100 Summer Staff, 150 Leaders, and 600 Volunteers to be a part of our amazing team to facilitate the details of mission trips across the country! You’ll meet lifelong friends, gain hands-on work experience, and most importantly show the love and light of Jesus!

Summer Staff

Summer Staff provides an amazing opportunity to gain leadership experience by facilitating mission trips across the country! Each of seven different position offerings is a paid summer-long commitment for college-age young adults and students.

Leadership

Leadership roles are weeklong, paid positions serving as a mission week director, coordinating behind-the-scenes home repair project logistics, or as a speaker and spiritual leader.

Volunteer

Volunteers are the heartbeat of each week-long mission trip! A wide variety of important roles ensure that you’ll witness Jesus working in the lives of hundreds of youth as together you serve a community in need.

Internship Program

Finished with college? Or maybe you'd like to take 6 months to grow personally and professionally? The Group Mission Trips internship is designed to give aspiring professionals and students and opportunity to learn applicable skills and knowledge about working for a Christian non-profit organization.

Overview
As we launch the 2018 season and support all Group Mission Trip experiences, these interns will work directly with the Project Managers, helping manage the logistics of both Workcamps and Week of Hope. Specific duties include but are not limited to coordinating supplies and paperwork going to camp leaders, communicating with lodging facility contacts via phone and e-mail, managing food purchase orders, and ensuring that materials are ordered and delivered to worksites.

Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum of 2 years (4 semesters) of college coursework in at least one of the following areas:

Project Management Intern Responsibilities
  • Assess camp supplies inventory and order necessary supplies
  • Develop working relationships with Cosponsors, Site Writers, lodging facility contacts, and Coordinators for Workcamps and Week of Hope
  • Prepare newsletters and partner communications
  • Attend materials database training and assist construction management intern in processing, entering, and communicating all information
  • Evaluate and modify service project descriptions for Workcamp and Week of Hope
  • Assist with staff training preparation and logistics
  • Maintain the ongoing camp processes of staff setup boxes, camp food orders and deliveries, work descriptions, and shipments
  • Provide additional assistance as needed by the Group Missions Trips team

Overview
As we launch the 2018 season and support all Group Mission Trip experiences, this intern will work directly with our staffing team., This intern will help recruit and screen volunteers for both the Workcamp and Week of Hope experiences and will have the opportunity to help with training and materials for summer staff, leadership, and volunteers.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Group Missions Trip Staffing Team with recruitment, screening, training, and communication with 2018 Red Shirt staff
  • Volunteer Recruitment- outbound calls and correspondence with registered youth groups, previous summer staff and Red Shirt volunteers
  • Staff Recruiting- Outbound calls and research to college campuses to find high-need positions, including worship leaders.
  • Assist with staff training preparation and logistics
  • Prepare training guides and printed materials
  • Organize and assemble Summer Staff and Crew picture boards
  • Assemble Summer Staff Directory
  • Provide additional assistance as needed by the Group Missions Trips team

Overview
As we launch the 2018 season and support all Group Mission Trip experiences, this intern will work directly with the Program, Staffing, and Project Manager teams by managing the equipment and program supplies. These interns will efficiently and effectively order and organize the supplies needed for our 2018 Mission Trip season, staff store, and camp store, managing any other shipments to and from camp locations throughout the season. They will also update and manage inventory in our warehouse and prepare supplies for all Summer Staff crews.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Program Intern to test all sound and media equipment
  • Organize all GMT gear and clothing for staff and participant stores
  • Inventory GMT staging warehouse for all Summer Staff crews
  • Fulfill camp store and staff gear orders
  • Assist with staff training for logistics and equipment
  • Resource Summer Staff crews with all needed warehouse supplies
  • Provide additional assistance as needed by the Group Mission Trips team

Overview
As we launch the 2018 season and support all Group Mission Trip experiences, this intern will work directly with our program team. A crucial part of Group Workcamps and Week of Hope is the program – spiritual and relational content carefully developed for participant mission experiences. This position will efficiently and effectively order the supplies needs for our 2018 theme program. The intern will help build and organize slides for the presentation software and train the staff who will be implementing programs.

  • Oversee GMT warehouse program supplies inventory and purchasing
  • Check existing and order new sound equipment
  • Learn and teach Media Shout program and serve as trainer for Summer Staff
  • Participate in camp program script evaluation and review
  • Provide additional assistance as needed by the Group Missions Trip team

Overview
As we launch the 2018 season and support all Group Mission Trip experiences, these interns will work directly with Workcamp staff and the Project Management team. This intern will receive work descriptions for home construction projects and enter them in a database so that materials can be ordered on time. This role is vital to the success of Group Workcamps country-wide.

Construction Materials Management Intern Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum of 2 years (4 semesters) of college coursework in at least one of the following areas:
  • Christian Ministry
  • Construction Management
  • Business Administration
  • Non-profit Management
Responsibilities
  • Collect work descriptions from the Workcamp Project Management team and enter all information for that home repair, including resident information, driving directions (if applicable), project description, tools and materials needed, and safety issues.
  • Know construction guidelines and understand what information is incorrect or missing from a work description; advise the Project Manager about a resolution.
  • Communicate to the Project Manager any questions that still need to be answered by the
  • person that wrote up with worksites and backfill that information into the database as it is received.
  • Ensure that all sketches are copied/saved and provided to the Setup Director and Summer Staff.
  • Input all information within the timeframe given by the Project Manager to ensure that materials are ordered on time.
  • Provide additional assistance as needed by the Group Missions Trip team
