How the Road Impacted Me
"Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things, because I am going to the Father." John 14:12
This year on The Road (Group Mission Trip's 2017 program theme), I had a amazing experience. My youth group went to Cincinnati, Ohio for the Week of Hope program. My crew ended up cutting fruit for kids in need all over Ohio/Kentucky through a program called UMC. Through them they serve over 3 million meals a year! We cut fruit and then we went to a Boys and Girls Club. It was really nice to feel wanted by the kids, and it brought me lots of joy.
What we didn't know was that at the end of the week we created more than 20,000 bags of fruit and veggies! Jesus fed thousands before and he says his followers can do greater... which we did! Although we had a complication during the week - a water main broke and it tore up the street where we were staying, we weren't able to shower for a day - we prayed and God healed it the next day! Also during the week our crew did some favors: we cleaned, organized, helped, and bought the Red Shirts ice cream which they loved!
Everything has impacted me so much that I know the road isn't ending for me or anyone! I am so grateful that we were able to be part of this amazing story! Thank you, Group Mission Trips!!!
