Summer Staff

Who are Summer Staff? Each year, we hire about 50 of the greatest college-age young adults and students from across the country to facilitate the details of our mission trips.

You and 2-3 other Summer Staff travel from training in Colorado to mission trip locations across the USA in a Group Mission Trips vehicle. At each location you’ll help create a mission trip experience for up to 400 participants who come to serve a community in need. You’ll meet lifelong friends, gain hands-on work experience, and most importantly show the love and light of Jesus!

Crew Manager • Workcamp

Overview
At each Workcamp, there’s a complex puzzle and it’s the job of our crew managers to put it together! Using a database management program to put the entire Workcamp into crews of 6 participants is only half of it. The crew manager also coordinates the transportation logistics for work crews and oversees work site progress. Aside from that, the crew manager supports the kitchen staff to provide excellent meals to camp participants. Materials Manager • Workcamp

Overview
Let’s talk tools. The materials manager delivers materials needed to worksites at Workcamp, organizes the tool room, and works closely with our local vendors to ensure correct material orders while tracking the budget. The materials manager humbly leads a team site coaches who are experts in the construction field so every work site can be completed. Office Manager • Workcamp

Overview
Where do you go to find information and a friendly face? The Workcamp camp office! The office manager oversees all happenings in the camp office such as answering any participant and staff questions and completing all camp paperwork. The office manager also coordinates all lodging facility logistics and serves as the main contact for the lodging facility staff. Program Manager • Workcamp

Overview
Sound boards, speakers, digital photography, projectors, lighting, and slideshows. The program manager is responsible for coordinating all media aspects during programs and taking photos around the facility and project sites at a Workcamp. Frequently Asked Questions
What are the qualifications?
  • At least one year out of high school
  • Available to work the entire period between late May until early August
  • Have a clean driving record (no more than one minor violation in last three years)
  • In 100% agreement with our mission: To serve others through home repair and community service experiences  that  transform  communities  and  help  participants,   residents, and partners grow closer to Jesus
  • Be an outgoing, mission-minded, people-friendly, hard-working go-getter – ready for a long, challenging, and rewarding summer in ministry serving others and Jesus
  • Provide proof of current CPR and First Aid Certification that is valid through the summer that you are employed. (Required and must be presented prior to arrival in Colorado for training)
Do I pick where I serve?

Nope! You will be assigned to your location(s) based upon your skills, experiences, and the needs of Group Mission Trips. Week of Hope staff serve in one city for 7 weeks, while Workcamp staff travel to 3-4 camp locations over the course of the summer. You’ll find out where you’ll be serving on the first day of Summer Staff training.

Do I have to attend training?

Absolutely! Our mandatory training is a two-week long high-energy, meaningful, practical, focused information frenzy! Training begins in late May and concludes when all Summer Staff leave for their camp locations.

Who will be on my crew?

Your crew will consist of 3 or 4 college-age young adults and students just like you.
