Peru is home to a wildly diverse geography, from pristine beaches on the western side of the country to the rugged barren Andes that separate the coast from the sweltering, green jungle, and you will catch a glimpse of that diversity as you travel from Lima to the jungle port town of Pucallpa. The people of Peru are as diverse as the terrain, as they have adapted to their surroundings
When you travel to Peru with Group International Mission Trips, your week with the Shipibo people who live in Pucallpa will capture your soul, invigorate you with the beauty of God’s creation all around you, and remind you that no matter how far away from home you go, you can find brothers and sisters of the faith united together under the love of Christ.
You will spend your week serving alongside Shipibo, Peruvians, and fellow North Americans as you help build a church or a home for a small village of new believers. You’ll play games with countless Shipibo children and join together in worship with your new friends. You’ll come home with a new understanding of what it means to live simply and your faith will deepen.

Here are examples of the types of projects you might be involved with:
We partner with a Peruvian mission team that serves the Shipibo people. They have developed a method of teaching the Bible to the Shipibo that mimics the way they pass down their stories orally from generation to generation. The Shipibo culture is an oral one, which means more emphasis is placed on the verbal sharing of stories and traditions than on writing things down.
Saturday – Arrive into Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM); located in Lima and stay overnight at the Lima Airport hotel with your team.
Sunday – Fly to Pucallpa as a team
Monday-Thursday – Serve the Shipibo people by facilitating VBS for children living in Pucallpa
Friday – Return to Lima for your red-eye flight back to the U.S.

All U.S. citizens need a valid passport to enter a foreign country and return to the United States. It must be valid six months beyond your intended stay and have 1-2 blank pages remaining. A passport is not required for trips to Puerto Rico and Alaska. Visas are not required for most trips. For full information, please ask your mission trip planner at time of booking.
Most meals are covered as part of your registration, except for free days if you're serving in Alaska or Puerto Rico. Please see the detailed itinerary of your international trip for any exceptions.
Most meals will be provided by our ministry partners, who have been carefully trained to prepare safe and nutritious meals for our teams. You will get a taste of local food on all of our trips, and some locations will include American food as well.
While some mission trips are more physically strenuous than others, most international trips will include at least four 8-hour service days in hot and humid environments. Your group can work at the level of physical exertion with which they’re comfortable.
Your international mission trip covers gratuities for meals in restaurants that are included for the week. Gratuities for porters or housekeeping staff if you stay in a hotel during your trip are at your discretion. Airport porters who help with your bags will expect to be tipped $1-$2, and if you participate in a guided tour or fun activity on your free day, you may want to consider tipping your hired guide.
The safety of your group is a top priority for us, as we’re sure it is for you. In all the areas we serve, we take extra precautions to make sure you or your group is as safe as possible. Guided by our local, experienced ministry staff partners, we avoid situations that are inherently dangerous. We’re also proactive by choosing lodging facilities and transportation that are safe and reliable. Our International Mission Trip Advisor is glad to answer further safety questions.
