The Little Things Always make a Difference

People have always said, "It's the little things in life that count," and that is true with any Group Workcamps experience. Waking up every morning knowing you are going to change someone's life by just helping them get a room painted or fixing a porch or building a ramp is amazing.

This past year, my crew and I helped our resident with many things: painting her shed and porch, weatherproofing her windows and the roof of her trailer, putting new skirting on her trailer, and picking up little projects on the day it rained.

She greeted us every morning with a smile and couldn't wait to see the day's progress. She joined us for devotions every day and even made us lunch and cookies one afternoon.

She was always grateful for the hard work we put in to make sure we got the job done. By the end of the week everything paid off and all the projects turned out great!

She thanked us for our hard work and how great it was to see kids like us doing something amazing to change people's lives. So in the end, every little thing does change someone's life and it doesn't have to be something big but something simple that means a lot and spreads some happiness to the people around us.
